Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber, reviewed

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Stephanie Garber has produced several very successful novels, with her Caraval and  Once Upon a Broken Heart series becoming Booktok sensations and averaging four star ratings on Goodreads, with hundreds of thousands of reviews a piece. Alchemy of Secrets is her first adult novel.Even as an adult novel, I found Alchemy of Secrets as just as easy to read as any of Garber’s YA novels. The only major difference was it featured adult characters instead of teens. If you’re a fan of Caraval or Once Upon A Broken Heart, then I highly recommend Garber’s newest book.

Additionally, if your new to Stephanie Garber’s writing, Alchemy of Secrets is a great place to start: it showcases Garber’s writing style well and you don’t need to invest into a new world. This book is also set in the real world, with magical elements. This made it easy to follow, as the myths that Holland, the main character, was chasing were explained by the Professor alongside Holland’s adventure. The myths, romance, characters, and eventual plot twist made the story lots of fun to read, with the cozy vibes and interesting plot bringing everything together
